Multi open pit mining tender

North Mara Gold Mine, a fully owned subsidiary of Twiga Minerals Corporation, which is ultimately owned by Barrick Gold Corporation and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania requests the submission of Tenders from reputable, experienced, certified and qualified parties to provide open pit mining services.

Pre-qualification Criteria

1.1. Participation

Participation in this tender procedure is open on equal terms to both international and local or national contractors coming within the scope.

1.2. Selection criteria

Tenderers must prove their economic, financial, technical and professional capacity to carry out the work subject to this call for tender. Must show market capacity to run a large scale open pit mining project with large scale mobile mining equipment.

1.1.1. Economic and financial capacity criteria and evidence

In order to prove their economic and financial capacity, the tenderer must provide. + Record of financing of large scale mine developments « — Copy of the profit and loss account for the last two years for which accounts have been Closed or appropriate statements from banks.

If, for some exceptional reason which the Contracting Authority considers justified, a tenderer is unable to provide one or other of the above documents, may prove economic and financial capacity by any other document which the Contracting Authority considers appropriate. In any case, the Contracting Authority must at least be notified of the exceptional reason and its justification in the tender. The Contracting Authority reserves the right to request any other document enabling it to verify the tenderer’s economic and financial capacity.

1.1.2, Technical and professional capacity criteria and evidence

11.2.1. Criteria relating to tenderers

Tenderers must comply with the following criteria:

 The tenderer must prove experience in the field of large open pit mining with at least one project delivered in this field in the last three years and show a corporate record of:

 Large scale open pit project management

 Large scale open pit Operations management

 Environmental Heathy and safety management

 Social management

 Previous projects developed on time and within budget

1.2.2.2. Criteria relating to the team delivering the service

 The Project manager who will carry out the work must have proven experience of minimum 10 years in project management, including overseeing project delivery, quality control of delivered service, client orientation and conflict resolution experience in project of a similar size. The Project manager has to have experience in writing English texts for reports.

 The technical services team or expert(s) that will carry out the work must have a mining related engineering education and 4 years of professional experience in the field of open pit mining technologies, mine development, mine operations, and environmental management.

1.2.2.3. Evidence

The following evidence should be provided to fulfil the above criteria:

 List and description of related activities carried during the past three years.

 Publications of related work

 The educational and professional qualifications of the team which will provide the service for this tender (CVs). Each CV provided should indicate the intended function in the delivery of the service.
